KIDS LIVING FROM THE INSIDE OUT...
From Jenna, the Director of the YES! project...
YES! program for high school kids. In Newark we are teaching about 145 students at East Side High School, mostly freshmen. It is a really amazing experience. Kids these days really need some direction and they are often not getting it at home or at school. We are working with a new approach that focuses on teaching actual techniques that allow the students to be more focused, calm, aware of themselves, less prone to violence through handling their emotions better and having better judgements, etc... The kids often see improvements on their grades, they sleep better, have better relationships with others, and are generally more relaxed. It is really inspiring working with these kids. I don't really know exactly what you were interested in knowing about the program, so if you have any questions let me know. We also have programs for college students, the link is below.

H.O.P.E for Ariang is raising money to build a Primary School in Ariang, a village near the town of Gogrial, Bhar El Ghazal region, South Sudan.
GABRIEL BOL DENG - ONE OF THE LOST BOYS IN THE SUDAN WHO HAS FOUND HIS MISSION
Gabriel Bol Deng, Founder and Director of Hope for Ariang, fled Sudan as a child of 10 years of age when his village was attacked by North Sudan Arab militiamen. He fled knowing only that his parents were lost in the attack - not knowing if they were alive. With other children whose villages had also been attacked, he walked for months, crossing the Nile and untold miles of desert. They finally reached Ethiopia, where they were safe, until political upheaval there meant that Gabriel and the others he had traveled with had to flee again. They made their way to Kenya and a refugee camp there. This primitive education provided in he Kenyan camp gave Gabriel hope for his future. READ MORE HERE
